this is why no one should ever let Mimi play around in a sad AU
"Finally," Remiel said the word in a breathy way, as if to imply that this was literally what he had been waiting his entire life for. "A chance for me to prove myself to Lord Yggdrasil. I have waited for such an opportunity these last few months, and at last my patience and work has been noticed by my liege." But his face twisted into a look of slight disgust. "If only I was able to fight alongside more worthy companions..."
He looked at his two... 'partners', if you could call them that. To the right stood the failed Chosen. He had been informed that she did little but wander the castle these days- it was his duty to find a use for her. Of course he would never obey an order from the great Lord Yggdrasil, but he couldn't help but think that his good Lord could have provided someone more... worthy. Certainly someone who was a true angel would be preferable.
And then on the other side, was him. A meek, simpering human who had thrown himself upon the good Lord Yggdrasil immediatly upon arriving. He was frightened by this place-- understandable. What human could understand the greatness of his Lord's vision? Not this boy, surely. By some strange chance, the crystal that the boy was granted had effectively suppressed all but one trait-- his nerves. It almost seemed as if, although Remial would never be so bold as to assume a think of his liege, the universe was playing some cruel joke by pairing him with this false angel and this simpering excuse of a boy.
However, success was borne of hardship and respect won through deeds. Remiel was determined to bring this resistance, this foolish band of children to the place that they belonged. He would singlehandedly crush such fools and deliver them to Lord Yg-
"Mi-Milord Remiel? Are we, I mean, I'm talking too much, but, um, are we going to"
"If a lesser being cannot learn to speak as one who is higher than he, he should not attempt to do so," Remiel cut in, having no patience for this boy's blabbering.
The boy looked over at their silent female companion, and then looked back at Remiel.
"Are we, ah, going to, um, go out and.. f-fight? The resistance? I mean, of course, for Lord Yggdrasil-"
Remiel frowned, "And inferior being should not say the name of his betters."
"Oh, yes, right, the um... half elf, thing... I-I know I've said this before but I'm sorry for my, ah.. human-ness... Really a shame, I mean, if I could have I really would have become an elf. Or, half... elf. Do you dislike elves too? I mean-"
"Cease your inane questions!" His patience was nearing its end. "Take the failed Chosen and look for resistance in the town. I will take an assignment more befitting my status." With a flap of his angelic wings he flew away from the two buffoons.
"A-Alright, then... I mean, yes... please leave me with the dangerous silent girl, she seems like... wonderful company-" he looked out of the corner of his eye, as if nervous that perhaps she would retaliate against such a comment. But of course she simply stood there and stared ahead. After they stared at each other for a moment he sighed. "Well, come on then," vaguely waving his hand around he led the way into town, Colette in tow.
As Lord Remiel watched them depart from a distance, he flew away in the other direction he muttered- "I'll need DIVINE INTERVENTION if I'm to survive this mission."
Then, as if she heard this statement, Colette threw a small handful of confetti into the air, and then continued on as if nothing had happened. Who knew all angels had a weakness for puns.
