[It's been a long time since she's looked at her journal, but even in her darkest moments, Sheena's never forgotten it or the people she once spoke to over it. How could she, when she'd see their faces as she hunted them down again and again?

For several long moments, she sits in a quiet corner of Once-ler's cave running her hand over the binding, as though trying to commit it to memory before opening it. Her eyes narrow in confusion as she sees what's been written there. Strange ramblings about anything and everything--including a comparison (with pictures) of Once-ler and a giraffe and the theory of how they're related.

She closes the book, then re-opens it. Yes, all those things are still there. Picking up the pencil she had found, she sighed as she put the shaking tip to the paper and began writing.]

[Filtered away from Mithos and his unchanged supporters and those who have been turned into Angels of all kinds and have yet to be fitted with a keycrest]

[That should do it because she's not exactly writing anything, but sketching...

At first the strokes are hesitant, but soon they gain confidence as her skill comes back and those who recognize who she's drawn will know it for what it is:

A notice that she's alive and has been 'crested.

Setting the journal aside, she sits with her knees drawn to her chest, hoping that this signal isn't too late.]

[ooc: She's trying to get in contact with those from home who might still be around in order to start healing, but anyone is free to contact her and let her know they're alive.]

[For a long time, she sits there in relief and shock from both how he speaks and what he's said, her fingers tracing the outline of her drawing without touching it.]

It is the only way I can speak to others. I am... Mithos found me too precious a specimen to attach a crystallized soul to. Why waste the chance to study the only Seraph in existence who grew to be this way naturally?

...You are the first I have managed to exchange friendly words with in two years...

[Sheena slumps back to the ground.]

I'm sorry. I didn't mean to imply otherwise. It's just that it's been so long.

[She had been aware of that turning point at the time it occurred; now it's a memory jumbled with a mess of others trying to sort themselves out--until one memory jumps out at her and she looks at him.]

[He nods, taking a seat beside her. The forest spirit that was never far from his thoughts, not even in this wasteland of a place]

[She's quiet as she takes this in.]

If it would have saved you and the others, you know what I would do--whether I deserved it or not.

[a pause]

[Sheena starts at the strange voice.]

[She sips her tea as he sits down, her eyes slightly unfocused as she tries to recall more.]

I think-- I think if he knew what's happened, Once-ler, he'd be proud of you.

[The Once-ler's smile fades somewhat]

I don't think he'd be proud of me until I fixed what I did to his forest.

And if I refuse it, you'll throw a fit, won't you?

[The sound of resigned acceptance can be heard.]

[She's afraid to mention it to anyone outside of a certain circle, but she may as well get it over with.]

...I do not know. A laboratory of sorts I suppose. I have not seen outside this room, and the researchers do not speak of what occurs in other parts of the facility.

...Sometimes though, I can hear screams through the walls.

The kicking I could probably stand, but the screaming? I'd gag you first.
