[save_the_souls]

The Story Thus Far:

The Once-ler has successfully freed Martel Yggdrasil from captivity, bringing her to the woods for safety. Martel, afraid of the retribution this might bring, pleaded Once-ler to tell no one that she has escaped. Once-ler then returned to the Resistance, only telling Ino about what had happened. Martel meanwhile traveled the woods alone until she met up with Zack Fair, the now embittered mercenary that's been doing what he can to stay alive and free in this setting.

However it wasn't as though Martel's disappearance went without notice. Mithos noticed his sister's absence and has set out all stops to find her. Whether or not you know of Martel's release, it's hard not to notice the larger number of angels around - even if some appear less than intimidating. Because of this, the small traveling group of Zelos Wilder, Arya Stark and Genis Sage have decided to travel to the mountains to use the stronger winds for safe haven from any lifeless angels until they can stronger.

Meanwhile back in the Resistance, efforts to fight back still persist. The inventors are having struggles in creating better keycrests for their loved ones  that have been transformed into angels. In the less tech part of the Resistance, Tsuna and Allen continued their efforts to revert angels back to their former selves. They were successful in converting Mithos's former assassin Sheena, but due to some mishaps Maladict escaped from their attempts.

Oh and Garry moped.

With all these different teams going on, what will be the next thing to occur? Will things turn in favor to the Resistance, or will it only get worse? Will Garry ever stop moping? Will any of you remember to use the damn journal? Only time will tell...

Nothing.

[ Arya finds a flat enough rock to sit on. Viserion drops down to her lap and nuzzles her to be petted. ]

There was nothing to do so I followed you.

[Is that supposed to make her feel better? That it's HER fault they couldn't save her? Well, it's par for the wretched course known as her life, isn't it? A course she feels should be ended to make up for everything.]

Why? Why are you being nice to me?

Oh.

[Well at least the dragons didn't set the cave on fire]

Well I'm not really doing anything but bathing out here.

[innominata]

[ The dragon makes a happy crooning sound as she pets it. ]

I can see that. [ Your point being...? ]

[wilder]

[...a mild groan]

Just promise to look away when I'm ready to get out.

As if I care to see. I've already seen Hodor. I doubt you're any different.

[Oh joy, laughter. That was always fun. He very almost bites back that he's really had enough of her attitude, and if she really wants to kill him, why doesn't she just go ahead and do it. After all, he has very little to lose now anyway.

But then she has to be...well, Echidna. He looks at his trapped axe, deliberating just yanking the damn thing out anyway. ...But no. He's gone down the path where he's ignored the consequences of his actions, where he was just selfish and hurtful and did whatever the hell he wanted. And look where it got him.

So, his eyes fixed on hers, his hand drops to his side]

You'd be surprised how much 'anything' can cover, and how much doing it can really change you. She wouldn't want me to become that person again.

[And then, calmly, he stands, back to his full towering height. His expression changes, it becomes something colder, harder. The one of the man who destroyed an entire valley for his own benefit. A man who, sometimes, was more like his mother than he'd care to admit]

But what she doesn't know can't hurt her. I hear you loud and clear.

[He just hopes it won't come to that, because if it does, he doubts he'll be able to come back from it a second time]

[wilder]

Hodor?

[Do I have to cut a bitch?]

[innominata]

[ Only if you want all the Stark children to cut you harder. ]

He was a stableboy at Winterfell. He liked to bathe in the pools in the godswood. He sometimes forgot to put his clothes on again and would come find us. Bran and I would have to tell him to.

[The Once-ler is never the person to go to if you want to feel better. He sucks at that. Still, at her question, he gives a shrug]

Because you're still my friend. You think I stopped caring about Zelos? Or Garry? Or anyone else?

[wilder]

[Ah so some stupid kid? Whatever. He just makes a "hm" noise with a nod at that before going back to bathe. ]

[innominata]

[ Arya looks up from the dragon just in time to see Nymeria...pounce? ]

Nymeria, don't!

[ And then Nymeria decides the lake is more interesting and jumps in. Were you planning on getting your hair wet? Because it is now. ]

[hedonic]

Now he's getting it... The attitude a real hero has to take.

[ As if he had passed some sort of test, she pulls her hand back in to press her fingertips to her lips, flattening it out and blowing him a kiss. ]

If you're going to have to be a man, then be the best of men.

[wilder]

[The splash and force of it actually surprises him enough to make him fall back, but he quickly breaks surface with a sputter]

Nymeria!

[innominata]

[ see nymeria. see nymeria dogpaddle in circles like she don't care. spoiler: she doesn't.

Arya claps her hand over her mouth to suppress her snickers. Even Viserion is making an odd sound reminiscent of laughter. ]

[wilder]

Ugh, it got into my mouth!

[Spitting out water as he eyes Nymeria. ]

Nice to see she hasn't changed all that much.

[innominata]

She's only as big as you now.

[whichwayyoulean]

[As suddenly as it came, his anger starts to fizzle out. He casts her a confused and somewhat irritated look. He'll never understand this woman. Never. Just when he thinks he does, she does something like this which makes him feel he has to re-evaluate her all over again]

Yeah. Thanks. I'll keep that in mind.

[wilder]

I see that. A bit bigger and she'll be the size of Noishe.

[innominata]

Where is Noishe?

[wilder]

[a pause]

I don't really know.

[hedonic]

[ At that point, she lets him go, showily swinging one leg over his arm and sliding off the table's edge. Kenta wraps around her arm before she steps away. ]

You're welcome. It's too bad you're not a cute girl, then you could thank me properly and keep me warm all night long. I really am such a bleeding heart.

...We found Nymeria. Noishe must be around too.

...Yeah.

He's smart, he knows to stay outta trouble.
