[save_the_souls]

The Story Thus Far:

The Once-ler has successfully freed Martel Yggdrasil from captivity, bringing her to the woods for safety. Martel, afraid of the retribution this might bring, pleaded Once-ler to tell no one that she has escaped. Once-ler then returned to the Resistance, only telling Ino about what had happened. Martel meanwhile traveled the woods alone until she met up with Zack Fair, the now embittered mercenary that's been doing what he can to stay alive and free in this setting.

However it wasn't as though Martel's disappearance went without notice. Mithos noticed his sister's absence and has set out all stops to find her. Whether or not you know of Martel's release, it's hard not to notice the larger number of angels around - even if some appear less than intimidating. Because of this, the small traveling group of Zelos Wilder, Arya Stark and Genis Sage have decided to travel to the mountains to use the stronger winds for safe haven from any lifeless angels until they can stronger.

Meanwhile back in the Resistance, efforts to fight back still persist. The inventors are having struggles in creating better keycrests for their loved ones  that have been transformed into angels. In the less tech part of the Resistance, Tsuna and Allen continued their efforts to revert angels back to their former selves. They were successful in converting Mithos's former assassin Sheena, but due to some mishaps Maladict escaped from their attempts.

Oh and Garry moped.

With all these different teams going on, what will be the next thing to occur? Will things turn in favor to the Resistance, or will it only get worse? Will Garry ever stop moping? Will any of you remember to use the damn journal? Only time will tell...

[ Herpaderp, he's definitely caught off guard by the hug attack! Maybe it's a little (a lot) unusual for someone who just met him, but since she keeps acting like she's in shock or something, and with the way she's talking, he wonder if she's lost people close to her this way. That thought kind of breaks his heart and he hugs her back, but he tries to untangle himself again after a moment. ]

Then it will be up to us to remind them why they shouldn't. None of this is their fault. The person named Mithos is responsible for this, and I want to find out why, but first we need to find a way to reach him...without needless killing.

[ A beat. ]

We shouldn't be here. The city's been abandoned for a reason. [ He's more okay with risking his own neck than someone else's, and looking around while they've spoken has made him about a thousand times more depressed and anxious. ]

[he chuckles] I think I'm pale enough as it is to choose to live underground.

Hmm...not really. Just the resistance base.

Heeey, I'm not that bad!

[ Well, they obviously have other priorities, which Aang certainly won't argue with. ]

Yuan, though he'll insist that he's not.

Of course he won't mind. The more people we have to help, the better.

[He'll look at her, somewhat guiltily, because hey he kept that seed a secret from her for a long time]

I had to wait until Ino decided I was allowed to leave the cave again.

[Still, he'll cast her a concerned look] Not been dealing with it all that well, huh?

You know what? Sometimes I really have to wonder myself, too.

I don't think I have that little voice in your head that tells you when to stop.

Is it any wonder you can barely do anything without an entourage to guide your better judgment?

They're kind of needed. My better judgement is non-existent.

Well, I support them! And I'm friends with a lot of them. So I guess I'm with them in spirit...

Why would they get in trouble? [Peering up at her.] Are you an angel, too?

[He tilts his head, trying to figure out what that means but failing horribly at it.]

Like...you were keycrested recently, is that what you're saying? If that's true, you're an angel!

Is that why you won't join them? Because of what you are?

NOOOOOO

[thehangedrose]

I don't even think it's the tallness, it's like...[He takes his hands off from his face, cheeks still red, and vaguely gestures at Once-ler's legs.] Your body proportions are rather off...I was friends with some artists back home, and they would make a huge deal over that kind of stuff, and here you are breaking the body proportion logic or...

[A pause.]

I might be reading a little too much in it, I think.

[thehangedrose]

Oh my, I-I don't think I would want to live in a world like that. I mean, love and caring make the world go round, right?

[And he pauses, letting out a sad sigh.]

It's always better when you know that someone, somewhere, somehow, out in the world loves you...

[ It can go on forever. Or until Echidna leaves. Or is about to stumble on anyone stupid enough Genis to come down. ]

Yes. I'm an angel; I don't want to be. I don't even want to be saved, but they won't do anything about that. And I'm not allowed to.

[She looks ahead just slightly past him.]

No one would want me to be a part of this group, trust me.

[ninjainviolet]

[She looks at him in mild surprise--another first for her: emotion other than irritation.]

You want to be someone's target?

[She takes a hesitant step forward, then stops, her hand resting on the wall.]

Everything came back too fast.

[thehangedrose]

Hey, hey, nobody wants to be an angel! That's not your fault that you became one, we were all forced, believe me, I know. [And an incredulous sound.] And why don't you want to be saved? You want to go back being that...that mindless thing from before you got the keycrest?

[Don't mind him, he's just going to go up and shake you by the shoulders because LOOK AT YOUR LIFE LOOK AT YOUR CHOICES]

Don't say that! I mean, just having you back to the person you were must be a really happy thing for all of then! I mean...yeah, I know they judge and all because of the angel thing, but that doesn't mean they don't want you!

[ninjainviolet]

[And don't mind her as she reacts on instinct and responds to the shaking with an uppercut.]

Let go of me. I don't want to be that mindless monster again. I don't want to be me, either. I don't want to be at all. Do you get it now?

[thehangedrose]

[He winces away, even though he doesn't feel it, and instead gives her a frown.]

What, so you just think that the only way out now is...killing yourself, is that it?

[Garry shakes his head. No. NO.]

Listen...I understand being an angel is hard, I know. And I can't imagine what you've went through, being over in that castle, but in the end, you're still you, you know. Despite all of this added stuff, we're still us, and that's worth fighting for, okay?

Killing yourself...it's just like giving up. You have people who rely on you and you just want to throw that away...I don't want that to happen. I never want that to happen.

They were right so long ago. I don't deserve to be alive. Not then, and not now.

[She turns away and looks at her hands.]

I've done something far worse than kill too many people this time. I made it possible for them to be placed in that mindless hell known as being an Angel. I can never be forgiven for that.
