The Story Thus Far:

The Once-ler has successfully freed Martel Yggdrasil from captivity, bringing her to the woods for safety. Martel, afraid of the retribution this might bring, pleaded Once-ler to tell no one that she has escaped. Once-ler then returned to the Resistance, only telling Ino about what had happened. Martel meanwhile traveled the woods alone until she met up with Zack Fair, the now embittered mercenary that's been doing what he can to stay alive and free in this setting.

However it wasn't as though Martel's disappearance went without notice. Mithos noticed his sister's absence and has set out all stops to find her. Whether or not you know of Martel's release, it's hard not to notice the larger number of angels around - even if some appear less than intimidating. Because of this, the small traveling group of Zelos Wilder, Arya Stark and Genis Sage have decided to travel to the mountains to use the stronger winds for safe haven from any lifeless angels until they can stronger.

Meanwhile back in the Resistance, efforts to fight back still persist. The inventors are having struggles in creating better keycrests for their loved ones  that have been transformed into angels. In the less tech part of the Resistance, Tsuna and Allen continued their efforts to revert angels back to their former selves. They were successful in converting Mithos's former assassin Sheena, but due to some mishaps Maladict escaped from their attempts.

Oh and Garry moped.

With all these different teams going on, what will be the next thing to occur? Will things turn in favor to the Resistance, or will it only get worse? Will Garry ever stop moping? Will any of you remember to use the damn journal? Only time will tell...

If I had to choose, I would pick Azula over Mithos any day.

[Azula is a monster, but she didn't violate the laws of life and death ]

All those angels you saw back there? They used to be residents, like us. Mithos used a special kind of crystal on them to transform them into angels...and rob them of their free will.

[ Angels? He's heard the term used in Paradisa before, but that certainly isn't what he was thinking of. No free will?!

Even if Azula had controlled people with fear, she never was really able to take that away from anyone. ]

How is that possible?

I'm afraid I don't know the exact mechanics behind it...but it's real enough.

[Unlike others, he can see the trapped souls. It was only partly luck that brought him to where he could save Aang...it was more he heard the souls of the angels screaming and begging not to take another life]

Mithos kidnapped and transformed many castle residents. It was done in a way that no one really noticed what was going on. When he had enough between that and the alliances he had made with residents seeking ill will on others...he attacked.

We barely had any warning....while there were rumors before, most of us had no idea what was going on. And even if we did, we couldn't bring ourselves to attack the angels that had the faces of our loved ones.

The castle fell. Every person they seized were transformed into angels to add to his army.

[ Ugh, that is...a lot to take in. And just because Aang is accustomed to ginormous angst bombs, that doesn't make it any easier to deal with. He's just a little better about keeping it to himself, or at least the worst of it. While the news makes him stop for a moment, he's quick to pick up the pace once more.

Allen's already had to suffer through this, and grieve. He shouldn't have to hold Aang's hand now.

Still, he doesn't want to be here right now. He wants to leave, to go to the city to confirm the deaths, to go to the castle to confront this Mithros, to do anything but continue to listen to one horror after another.

Yes, he had asked; but he doesn't want to hear, and so he doesn't know what to say.

But he will cry, albeit silently. He doesn't know who was turned, who died, and who survived. Aang is a bit scared to ask, but he doesn't need to know any of them to sincerely mourn, his footsteps feeling heavier than ever. ]

[Allen stops in his steps when he sees Aang crying. He feels guilt that he had to tell someone who looks like a kid such a tale, even if he knows Aang is very mature for his age and can handle so much. It is a story he would not want to tell a single soul, if he could. Just like Akuma...some horrors were better left unspoken.]

[He won't approach him to hug him, but he'll put a hand on his shoulder. A small amount of comfort at least. He pauses before speaking]

...Things aren't without hope. Many people did escape, the Dead Zone settlement sounds pretty lively.

And while we have yet to find a way to reverse their transformation, there is a way to return their free will and humanity back to those turned into angels. It's not too late.

[ He glances up and over to Allen with an appreciative nod, wiping at his eyes. Of course, he always wants to believe in hope.

The Dead Zone?

Consideration, but he can't help out there like he can here. Even if he's a little rusty with his bending, he's going to be sure to resume his training right away. ]

Why isn't that the same as reversing it?

[Oh, here comes the unhappy part yet again. Maybe he should just introduce this kid to Garry. You'll get it]

...They can't eat, they can't sleep and many of them really don't want the wings or the abilities. Not to mention, there is no erasing the memories that came from all that.

I've heard there are ways to let them eat and sleep again, but...we lack the skills to make it possible right now. But...we're trying. At least the ones with a better knack for that.

[Allen was not a craftsman. He knew that much]

[ At least he doesn't have to hesitate in offering that. ]

How far out is where you're staying?

[He considers, he doesn't sense any angels within hearing distance so...]

It's about thirty minutes from here.

[And he starts walking again]

How dangerous is it? I mean...do they stay away from that area? Does anyone stay in the city at all now? We used to have a house there...

...No. No one stays in the city anymore. It's too dangerous.

[Just to make that clear right now]

Where we stay is relatively safe. It's an entire system of caves that are practically a maze if you don't know the way. Not only that, but the forest in that area is too thick for the typical angel to fly through easily.

And of course, we have people who stand on guard as well.

[ And it's been like that for this long? ]

...I didn't think Paradisa could get worse. Why is he doing this? Mithos?

He must have a reason. Nobody's been able to just talk with him?

People have...I'm sure the others can give you a better answer. I simply don't care to listen to whatever justification he's come up with. Because from what I see, it's all madness.

[ Welp, he's not really in any position to argue. He knows too little about this scenario, even if he's become no stranger to witnessing madness. He shudders to think what Ozai or Azula would have done if they'd had the kind of power Allen's described. ]

I'm sorry. [ Could anyone ever mean it more? ]

...None of it is your fault.

We just have to work together to stop it.

[ Even if it isn't his fault, which he's still debating over, he's sorry that it happened at all, and that people suffered and died. He's sorry that Paradisa might never be the same and nobody even knows the reason why. ]

[he'll nod. Things wouldn't return how they were once, no. Allen knew that. But still, they could still make it better]

I don't really know how to answer that question. But I can't complain. [ Not knowing how everyone else has suffered while he basically napped and dreamed about fake spirits. ]

I'm fine. This...[he tries to think of how to say it] the situation has similarities to my world, so...it was easy for for me adapt.

The people in my world have been through a lot, but I'm glad that none of them ever have to worry about imagining something quite like this.

[ Although... ]

I've had to fight a friend who was brainwashed before. We were able to return him back to his normal self, but there wasn't magic involved, either. [ And then he died anyway. B| YOU KNOW HIM, ALLEN. ]
