MASS OPEN POST

The Story Thus Far:

The Once-ler has successfully freed Martel Yggdrasil from captivity, bringing her to the
woods for safety. Martel, afraid of the retribution this might bring, pleaded Once-ler to tell no one that she has escaped. Once-ler then returned to the Resistance, only telling Ino about what had happened. Martel meanwhile traveled the woods alone until she met up with Zack Fair, the now embittered mercenary that's been doing what he can to stay alive and free in this setting.

However it wasn't as though Martel's disappearance went without notice. Mithos noticed his sister's absence and has set out all stops to find her. Whether or not you know of Martel's release, it's hard not to notice the larger number of angels around - even if some appear
less than intimidating. Because of this, the small traveling group of Zelos Wilder, Arya Stark and Genis Sage have decided to travel to the mountains to use the stronger winds for safe haven from any lifeless angels until they can stronger.

Meanwhile back in the Resistance, efforts to fight back still persist. The inventors are having struggles in
creating better keycrests for their loved ones  that have been transformed into angels. In the less tech part of the Resistance, Tsuna and Allen continued their efforts to revert angels back to their former selves. They were successful in converting Mithos's former assassin Sheena, but due to some mishaps Maladict escaped from their attempts.

Oh and Garry moped.

With all these different teams going on, what will be the next thing to occur? Will things turn in favor to the Resistance, or will it only get worse? Will Garry ever stop moping? Will any of you remember to use the damn journal? Only time will tell...

[OOC: This post has two services, first as a recap as you seen above, as well as a mass open post for all the on-goings you rather not make an entire post for! Feel free to use this post as such or simply make your own post in the comm, it matters not! As for amount of time, while the game is very flexible we'll set it to be still a few days after the staring point of the game cause why not]

Wow. You've had quite the varied sort of life...a theater critic and an investigator and an accordion instructor? You must be pretty talented for that kind of stuff.

Yeah, it's nice to meet you too, Lemony. [And once they reach the edge of the city into the woods, he'll let out a sigh, though he knows the danger isn't done yet.]

...I hope you don't mind walking, by the way. It's quite a distance from here, and the terrain can be a bit tough.
theabjectauthor: (I enjoy a good show.)

[personal profile] theabjectauthor 2012-11-03 12:16 am (UTC)(link)
I suppose I'm talented enough. I was trained in a number of various skills - my teachers all insisted upon it. [thing is, he doesn't look that old - if Garry's a good judge of such things, he could guess early 30s] As far as the journey, I don't mind terribly, though I'd prefer a sturdy rickshaw or a Studebaker, just like anyone else. Though, I must ask: how far would you consider "quite a distance"?
thehangedrose: ([concerned] can we ever get out)

[personal profile] thehangedrose 2012-11-03 12:32 am (UTC)(link)
Goodness, I wish I had that kind of education when I was young...[He notices it, alright. Either the guy here is a prodigy or just had the best education ever.] I don't even remember half the stuff I learned back then! And...what's a rickshaw? or Studebaker?

[He thinks about that for a moment, before answering.] A distance in which you think you get there sooner but it takes a lot longer than what you were thinking...I think it depends on the person, really.

If you want me to tell you numbers, I'll probably have to tell you later...don't want any angels to overhear if they're on patrol, right? The last thing I want is for them to find the camp...

But around ten minutes or so, I think, if we're fast.

theabjectauthor: (I am knowledgeable)

[personal profile] theabjectauthor 2012-11-03 12:56 am (UTC)(link)
No, no, I understand completely. Perhaps some of the codes I used to use could be of use to you all ...

[he thinks for a moment as he follows Garry, then breaks the silence again, carefully] A rickshaw is a sort of cart, drawn by another person as a means of getting someone from Point A to Point B. And a Studebaker is a somewhat stylish if antiquated model of automobile... [he coughs quietly]

I hope you'll forgive me, Garry. It's been a while since I was in Paradisa proper, and forgot that such things can be anachronistic - a phrase which means "the sort of stuff no one has ever even heard of and might translate to be the name of a foreign cuisine rather than a mode of transportation".

Codes? Oh, like for secret messages and such! That would be pretty cool, actually!

[And he listens with interest.] Huh...they sound really fancy! It is definitely, erm, as you say, anachronistic. I don't think I've seen any one of those, except for cars, of course. Funny how there are so many ways of transporting people around, isn't there?

[TIME FOR ANOTHER PAGE IN HIS JOURNAL ABOUT THIS, YEP.]

Oh! You...you were in Paradisa before? Wow, that must be quite the change for you, with everything that has happened...I mean, a lot of things have changed, as you can clearly see.

[he smiles a little, despite the danger they're in, bolstered by pleasant company and the discussion of various pleasant and/or interesting topics. it's been a while since he's had this sort of conversation, after all, and he'd almost given up hope of having it again]

It is, yes ... though I've long been accustomed with the Buddhist principle of the world being a constant engine of change and suffering, there are a couple of aspects I still haven't quite been able to get used to. ... Mostly the change and the suffering.
thehangedrose: ([smile] rise of the blue rose)

[personal profile] thehangedrose 2012-11-03 01:33 am (UTC)(link)
Buddhist? Yeah, yeah, I think somebody I knew back home was into that kind of stuff. He used to paint the chakras of the body...I didn't really get it, but it was still interesting.

[A short laugh.] I don't think anybody would be used to change and suffering. Isn't that the point? If we were used to it, then it would be a scary world, indeed...

[personal profile] theabjectauthor 2012-11-04 05:31 pm (UTC)(link)
That does sound interesting ... [that faint smile lingers for a moment] And you're right. The world is a very scary place as it is - I shudder to think what it would be like if everyone stopped caring what happened.
thehangedrose: ([sad] that's how it is)

[personal profile] thehangedrose 2012-11-06 02:44 am (UTC)(link)
Oh my, I-I don't think I would want to live in a world like that. I mean, love and caring make the world go round, right?

[And he pauses, letting out a sad sigh.]

It's always better when you know that someone, somewhere, somehow, out in the world loves you...
theabjectauthor: (I am waiting for someone - is it you?)

[personal profile] theabjectauthor 2012-11-08 03:08 pm (UTC)(link)
[oh, Garry. GARRY, HE KNOWS THAT SIGH. he knows it so well. instantly, his smile fails] Oh, no. Garry ... please... please tell me you have not lost that someone to these terrible horrors...
thehangedrose: ([concerned] can we ever get out)

[personal profile] thehangedrose 2012-11-08 10:18 pm (UTC)(link)
[He seems surprised that Lemony picked up on it so quickly, and turns to look at him.]

Well...yes. I have. [He glances away with an unreadable expression.] I don't know where she is, though I suspect it's the castle, but...either way, the last time I saw her was over two years ago.
theabjectauthor: (I am in my cups - as it were.)

[personal profile] theabjectauthor 2012-11-08 10:39 pm (UTC)(link)
[some people have gaydar, Lemony Snicket has angstdar. it's just that simple. he winces sympathetically]. Then I hope, for both your sakes, that they are alive and well somewhere....
thehangedrose: ([sad] that's how it is)

[personal profile] thehangedrose 2012-11-09 05:12 am (UTC)(link)
Oh, I hope so too. I mean, Mithos doesn't really kill people if he catches them, he just...

[He trails off and gestures offhandedly to his wings.]

Well, that.
theabjectauthor: (I daresay!)

[personal profile] theabjectauthor 2012-11-11 10:13 pm (UTC)(link)
... That's even more terrible. ... [he shudders] ... Does it hurt ...?
thehangedrose: ([concerned] can we ever get out)

[personal profile] thehangedrose 2012-11-11 10:39 pm (UTC)(link)
[There's a long pause. So long, in fact, that Lemony might think that Garry hasn't heard the question. But suddenly he speaks, and there's nothing sad and worried in his tone. It's just hard and level, as if he's brushing against a thorn in his side that is still sore after all this time.]

Oh, it does. It really, really does. And then you're lucky in a way, because you don't feel any of it anymore after a few days, but then it keeps going, and going, and...

[He frowns, his mouth a thin line.]

Basically...I wouldn't wish it on anyone. Sometimes, you wish you were killed instead, because that, at least, would be easier, faster, but no, you're just stuck in this...this never-ending torture for a few days as you become something you never wanted to become.

[And he shakes his head and turns away, trying to hide the utter melancholy that he got every time he thought about it.]

...I'm sorry. I-I shouldn't have elaborated on that. It's horrible enough as it is, but what's done is done.
theabjectauthor: (I am in my cups - as it were.)

[personal profile] theabjectauthor 2012-11-19 06:36 pm (UTC)(link)
No, no, I -

[he's silent as he holds up his hand for a moment, searching for words]

I'm sorry that you had to endure that.... That anyone does at all. But I'm glad that you told me, because now I want to help these poor souls even more.
thehangedrose: ([smile] rise of the blue rose)

[personal profile] thehangedrose 2012-11-21 03:23 am (UTC)(link)
[A nod. It hurts to share, but people like Lemony needed to know the brutal truth. No use in hiding it.]

Yeah, exactly!

[He can't help but try his best to give Lemony a reassuring smile- he doesn't want to end this conversation on such a low note.]

I'm just the example of what we shouldn't let happen to people, and that's exactly why we try to save as many people as possible.

Well, I am fortunate to have met such a kind example as yourself, Garry. Thank you for enlightening me, even at the cost of dredging up your own painful memories.
thehangedrose: ([lighter] firestarter)

[personal profile] thehangedrose 2012-11-26 06:24 am (UTC)(link)
[He just shakes his head, smiling widely as he waves it off dismissively.]

Hey, hey, it's not a problem! I'm just glad to help. Besides, what happened was a while ago, so I've had plenty of time to get over it.

[...Mostly.]
