The Story Thus Far:

The Once-ler has successfully freed Martel Yggdrasil from captivity, bringing her to the woods for safety. Martel, afraid of the retribution this might bring, pleaded Once-ler to tell no one that she has escaped. Once-ler then returned to the Resistance, only telling Ino about what had happened. Martel meanwhile traveled the woods alone until she met up with Zack Fair, the now embittered mercenary that's been doing what he can to stay alive and free in this setting.

However it wasn't as though Martel's disappearance went without notice. Mithos noticed his sister's absence and has set out all stops to find her. Whether or not you know of Martel's release, it's hard not to notice the larger number of angels around - even if some appear less than intimidating. Because of this, the small traveling group of Zelos Wilder, Arya Stark and Genis Sage have decided to travel to the mountains to use the stronger winds for safe haven from any lifeless angels until they can stronger.

Meanwhile back in the Resistance, efforts to fight back still persist. The inventors are having struggles in creating better keycrests for their loved ones  that have been transformed into angels. In the less tech part of the Resistance, Tsuna and Allen continued their efforts to revert angels back to their former selves. They were successful in converting Mithos's former assassin Sheena, but due to some mishaps Maladict escaped from their attempts.

Oh and Garry moped.

With all these different teams going on, what will be the next thing to occur? Will things turn in favor to the Resistance, or will it only get worse? Will Garry ever stop moping? Will any of you remember to use the damn journal? Only time will tell...

As for amount of time, while the game is very flexible we'll set it to be still a few days after the staring point of the game cause why not]

[You know what's really bad about having a purpose to keep you going in a horrific wasteland? When you actually fulfil what you set yourself out to do. What do you do afterwards?

Try to get on as best you can, it turns out. The Once-ler toyed with the idea of heading out to the dead zone, living the rest of his time in Paradisa in safety. But the years have changed him somewhat, what would have been a very tempting offer has become a second best. Still, it's not as easy now he's got Martel out. Now he hasn't got that single thing to focus on, he has to try and throw his attention wherever he can and hope it can keep his mind off the hell he's living in long enough to pass the day away.

For now, that's working on keycrests. He's sitting in his quiet corner of the caves, working away and generally hoping he'll be left alone. Which of course never happens]

[Left alone? Here? Never. Only he may wish for someone else when he realizes just who's come to visit him.

Remember that Angel you pipe bombed? She's standing at one end of the cavern watching you in silence.]

[He gets that creepy weird prickly feeling in the back of your neck when you know you're being stared at. He turns and startles for a moment, his hand automatically reaching for the axe on the floor beside him]

...Sheena?

[How did she even get in here? Oh man, please say they gave her a keycrest]

[She walked here, how else? She'll be damned if she'll let those wings out again.

She watches impassively as he reaches for his weapon, making no move to go for her own or defend herself.]

I wouldn't blame you if you used that.

[Obvious clue there's a 'crest involved--she has spoken.]

[He visibly relaxes at her comment, leaving the axe where it stands. He even offers her the smallest of smiles, he's missed her. Still, there won't be any over-joyful hugs and squeals from this guy. He knows she's going through her own personal hell right now. Making a big deal out of things won't help]

So they finally got you back, huh?

[Is there a glimmer of disappointment in her eyes as he abandons the axe? Possibly. Actually, more like probably. So, sorry if she doesn't return the smile, Once-ler--but at least she's not charging ahead to kill you.]

Yeah. Finally.

[After two years of solitary hell. So good to be back...]

[His smile fades a little]

I'm sorry we couldn't get you out sooner. You haven't been the easiest person to bring down.

...And I'm sorry for... [he waves his hand to encompass the universe in general] everything. It can't be easy right now.

[Is that supposed to make her feel better? That it's HER fault they couldn't save her? Well, it's par for the wretched course known as her life, isn't it? A course she feels should be ended to make up for everything.]

Why? Why are you being nice to me?

[The Once-ler is never the person to go to if you want to feel better. He sucks at that. Still, at her question, he gives a shrug]

Because you're still my friend. You think I stopped caring about Zelos? Or Garry? Or anyone else?

But I tried to kill you.

[Oh yes, she remembers every detail of that, Once-ler. Wanna see her cards?]

So? Lots of people try to kill me. Often on a daily basis. Nothing new there.

But they probably had a real reason to. I didn't.

[She's not trying to be mean or funny, Once-ler. Sarcasm is a concept long-dead as well. She's merely stating a fact.]

Gosh, you really know how to make a guy feel special.

[Still, he'll cast her a concerned look] Not been dealing with it all that well, huh?

[ It happens in the way that dumping a crate of supplies loudly and proudly on the ground almostonhisfeet is leaving him alone.

[Oh hell what even. He startles, reaching for his axe, and only marginally letting his guard down when he sees who it is. 'Marginally letting his guard down' meaning not actually swinging the axe at her in this case. He keeps his grip on it because, yeah, never trusting this one ever. Lesson learned the first time thank you very much]

Oh. It's you.

Such enthusiasm! Maybe you didn't want anything here after all.

[He gaze drops to the box for a second, before fixing right back on her]

Wow, I didn't think you'd actually seriously get me anything.

...There's not really vicious scorpions in there instead, is there? Because as practical jokes go, that wouldn't be all that funny.

Scorpions? But that might make him jealous...

[ Kenta lets out a little hiss like Once-ler just offended the crap out of him. Echidna just kind of snickers, pointedly sitting on the crate and crossing her legs. ]

You just like to hurt our feelings.

Oh...the snake. Yippie. Almost forgot about him.

[Still, he'll arch his brow and give her a pointed look]

Gosh, I know. You'd almost think I didn't like you for a completely undeserved reason or something.

[hedonic]

[ Her eyes narrow a touch, smile becoming sharper. You want to do this now? ]

Do you want more reasons, little boy? I heard you played at being hero recently, so here I am rewarding you. But if you still want to be punished, I'm more than happy to indulge that desire, too.

[He's always good at digging himself into a hole]

...You heard about that? [Well, he DID have a feeling that wouldn't be kept quiet for long. He glances back at the box, then at Echnida. It was like being told this time the fire really wouldn't burn him if he touched it. He isn't really sure how much he can trust she'll just try to take his head off anyway]

...Wait. You're doing...a legitimately nice thing for me?

Are you calling me cruel? There you go, hurting my feelings again! Now you have to say please.

[He gives her a pointed look]

No. I'm not saying please for something when I don't even know what's in there. You'll just have to deal with your hurt feelings like a big girl.

[hedonic]

[ Leaning back, Echidna laughs and kicks out a leg, the sharp point of her boot inches from him. Just taunting, teasing, of course.

Maybe. ]

Does the big strong man think a bit too highly of himself now, I wonder? Don't think that just because you can swing your little axe around that I won't still knock you off your cloud—from hero back down to zero.

[ Kicking out her other foot, the elf hops up and spins around to wave a hand towards the box. ]

But not today. Today we're business partners, hm?

[To his credit, he doesn't flinch. A few years ago? Before all this mess happened, he'd have been scuttling to hide behind something. He's never sure if this was a change for the better or not. Still he'll roll his eyes a little]

Thanks, Echidna. I'll remember that as I go to sleep tonight.

[He'll give her another cautious look, before wandering over to the box to peer inside, his hand still holding onto the axe...just in case]
