The Story Thus Far:

The Once-ler has successfully freed Martel Yggdrasil from captivity, bringing her to the woods for safety. Martel, afraid of the retribution this might bring, pleaded Once-ler to tell no one that she has escaped. Once-ler then returned to the Resistance, only telling Ino about what had happened. Martel meanwhile traveled the woods alone until she met up with Zack Fair, the now embittered mercenary that's been doing what he can to stay alive and free in this setting.

However it wasn't as though Martel's disappearance went without notice. Mithos noticed his sister's absence and has set out all stops to find her. Whether or not you know of Martel's release, it's hard not to notice the larger number of angels around - even if some appear less than intimidating. Because of this, the small traveling group of Zelos Wilder, Arya Stark and Genis Sage have decided to travel to the mountains to use the stronger winds for safe haven from any lifeless angels until they can stronger.

Meanwhile back in the Resistance, efforts to fight back still persist. The inventors are having struggles in creating better keycrests for their loved ones  that have been transformed into angels. In the less tech part of the Resistance, Tsuna and Allen continued their efforts to revert angels back to their former selves. They were successful in converting Mithos's former assassin Sheena, but due to some mishaps Maladict escaped from their attempts.

Oh and Garry moped.

With all these different teams going on, what will be the next thing to occur? Will things turn in favor to the Resistance, or will it only get worse? Will Garry ever stop moping? Will any of you remember to use the damn journal? Only time will tell...

What do you mean, into the forest? Can't we go into the city? It should be easier to get lost in the crowds, right?

[It's okay bro, you were attacked by angels your first moment it's a good excuse]

[And at mention of the city, Allen seems to tense a little and look down and away. Even if it's been some time...he doesn't like to think about the city. About how he failed to save them]

...There's...no crowds left in the city, I'm afraid.

Is everyone trapped in the castle?

[He swallows, forcing himself to look at Aang. Sadness, regret, guilt...they are all on his face]

They were all killed...about nearly two years ago, I believe it's been now.

We tried to save them, as many as we could, but their numbers were too strong and the townspeople...they refused to leave their city no matter what.

[ Why didn't everybody else stay in the city, then? What happened? What did he mean they'd been dead for two years? And how much longer had it been before that?

How long had it been? It felt like he'd been gone forever, and at the same time only a few hours.

Oh, there's that migraine again. And more repetition, but this time it's going to come with some hyperventilation. ]

[And Allen is quickly reaching over to him, putting a hand on his shoulder. It sure has been long enough for Allen to pick up some medical skills, that's for sure]

Aang...try to take some slow deep breaths, okay? I know, it's hard to hear all this.

[ He tries to take deep breaths, but the attempt is quickly ruined when words rush out instead. ]

Where was I?! I mean... Where was my body?! It couldn't have been in the castle that whole time. This is just like before...!

I'm sorry, Allen, I don't know what happened! I was just trying to communicate with it again.

[He'll look at him]

None of this is your fault. Nothing at all. The truth is, we thought you had been sent home years before this even happened.

Wherever you were, it wasn't here.

[ Something to focus on other than thousands of deaths, please. For two seconds. ]

Because I didn't go home! Well, not really. I was in the Spirit World! I was trying to get answers, and instead I got trapped, but my body should have stayed behind!

I think..two? It's been...four or five years since I remember you seeing you last.

[Okay he can do that bro]

I see...well, sometimes the castle sends a person to another place instead of home. Other places on this world. Perhaps it was something like that.

[ Puzzlement settles over his depression for a moment. ]

I know about world changes, but this couldn't have been that! I mean... It was so real. I had no concept of time. And I couldn't—

[ Oh, right, he wouldn't have been able to bend out in the Dead Zone, anyway. ]

...It's been four years since I've used my bending, or even really been myself? I nearly forgot what it was like to be human.

[Allen also frowns, a bit puzzled. Man Aang, why must you always be a special snowflake. He's known lots of people on weird world changes that have returned, but never quite like that]

...Sorry, if you're certain it wasn't a world change, then I don't know what happened to you. I just know you weren't here.

[he isn't touching the forgotten to be human part because ha...ha...ha that brings up a possibly even worse problem about this land]

Regardless, once we get back to where I've been staying I'd like to give you a medical exam. Just to make sure you're entirely okay after being apart from your body for so long.

[ Aang isn't certain about anything anymore. Now he worries it was just a world change, but that's just sick. The Spirit World is supposed to be sacred, how could the castle recreate it's likeness just to trick him?

So he just nods a little dazedly, then slowly stands up. Looking towards the city. He still can't quite wrap his brain around all the deaths.

[Allen could understand the feeling that of being unable to wrap your mind around such a thing. Honestly, had he not been there, had he not grown up in a war of incredibly high casualities - it would've been impossible for him to conceive himself]

A location deep in the forest. Many survivors left to start a new life in the Dead Zone, but the rest of us choose to stay and fight. Where I stay is the place for the largest group of us.

[he gets up, stretching a little as he activates his eye to make sure there's no angels nearby- so far safe]

Has he ever actually seen Allen do that before? Trying not to stare! He feels so all over the place, but he follows after, trying to use passive earthbending to likewise keep tabs on any possible attackers. Of course, it won't help much if they're in the air, but it's a little something. ]

[But he'll start walking further into a forest, at a bit of a slower pace than what he does normally so Aang has a chance to keep up, what with the boy being short and out of his body for the past four years]

...I was lucky.

Something I had always thought was something to curse...turned out to be my unexpected savior.

Suppose there's a lesson in that somewhere.

[ Tentacle!Allen is something that's kind of hard to forget. Especially since Katara got hurt.
